Tips for the Underwater Photographer

1. Saving your Camera from Flooding & Corrosion

NB. Guys you might go 'yuck' but believe us, it WORKS!!

* Ask your wife, girlfriend or sister to use one of their bikini pads. (We don't suggest asking a friend...they might think your weird!)

* Carefully making sure you get a clean cut, cut down to the size of your housing.

* Insert the pad into the bottom of your housing. Place camera inside.

* Clean your o'ring ensuring no fluff or dirt on it and seal.

* If you do leak water, the pad will absorb it until you get to the surface to dry!

2. Tips to keep the travelling underwater photographer smiling!

* Always carry a fix-it kit, spare o-rings, toothbrush, micro fibre cloth,
silica gel packs, silica grease etc, international travellers plug etc.

* Always remove the o'ring and stored inside the housing for transit
and when flying always leave the housing slightly ajar.

*Ensure you have a wet bag as well as a dry case. A housing usually
takes up to 2 weeks to completely dry! On the boat have the housing
in a wet bag, usually neoprene. This will help protect the housing from
vibrations and damage. After your dive, place the housing in a wet
bag until back on land and able to dry housing properly. Only put back
in your dry case if you have moisture absorbers in the case, otherwise
you will be dealing with humidity & fogging your whole dive trip.
